Having younger foster and adoptive siblings with I/DD and physical disabilities from the time I was very young, I am a proud long-time disability rights activist.
My Story
I am also disabled, chronically ill and pained, queer, and gender-nonconforming. My commitment to anti-racism, anti-ableism, social justice and queer, trans, intersex, and crip/disability liberation guides all of my work. I am also a disability and health humanities writer. I hold an MA in Disability Studies from CUNY SPS and an MFA in Creative Writing with a nonfiction and narrative medicine focus from Dominican University of California.
